– “Breaking The Seal” –

Well, you know this radio show was named after drinkin’ in bars for happy hour, but always lamenting the continuous misery of being a Cleveland sports fan who never got to celebrate the big championship.
Hence, “The Unhappy Hour”.
Now, all of that has changed.
I am legitimately facing an existential crisis in wondering if the group name should be changed.
For once, we are happy. It feels good.
It is everything I could have hoped for.
Plus, the Buckeyes are a legit title threat every year, the Browns appear headed in the right direction, and now the Indians are playing at a superhuman level.
Could the Tribe be next?
Will the Indians keep the momentum of Stipe Miocic, the Lake Erie Monsters, and Cleveland Cavaliers going?
I’ve bartended at many places over the years, and most drinkers will recognize the phrase “breaking the seal”.
You can drink 1, 2, 3, 4, or more beers before you need to use the restroom.
But then, like clockwork, the restroom visits become much more frequent.
The seal was broken.
The Cleveland Championship seal has been broken.
The dominos are clacking together, and the Tribe could very well bring the next title for a town that has now been “crowned, not cursed” as the new Budweiser ad points out.
Energy is contagious.
Positive vibes emit a ripple to thise others in close proximity.
The butterfly effect states that a butterfly flapping its wings can set off a chain reaction that could result in hurricane on the other side of the world.
My view from the parade had Progressive field lights off to the left.
We saw Jim Brown hanging out w/ LeBron.
Stipe and the Monsters rode in the parade.
Slider was hammin’ it up.
The whole city celebrated together.
1, 2, 3, Hard Work
4, 5, 6, Together
ALL IN
We really are “All In”.
This title was for everyone.
All sports fans, all people who have been made fun of for decades.
It took a King to break a curse, and now the seal is broken.
The Championship possibilities for Cleveland are cruising in the fast lane, and the baseball team is playing great ball, went undefeated at home in June, and have a pitching staff that will keep them in every series through the playoffs.

LeBron announced his return, then the RNC also chose Cleveland for the big convention in a few weeks.
In response, Tom Morello reconfigured Rage Against The Machine by adding B Real of Cypress Hill, and Chuck D from Public Enemy to form “Prophets Of Rage” to disrupt the convention and protest the whole political process.
(I look forward to seeing them when we cover RNCC in a couple weeks)
But I am reminded of their old singer Zach De La Rocha, who in “Guerrilla Radio” wrote one of my favorite lyrics of all time, “What better place than here, what better time than now?”
So Cleveland, ….now that Stipe, the Monsters, and Cavaliers have officially broken the seal….what better place than Cleveland, and what better time than now to keep the good vibes rolling with a Cleveland Indians Championship???
I still have the unsmoked cigar that was in my mouth in a Bowling Green dorm room watching game 7 of the World Series, and this might finally be the year I get to fire it up!
