We attended "Occupy L.A." on Saturday 10_01_11 to see why people were gathering, and what they were gathering to protest.
Please leave your non-profane thoughts, and let's discuss what is going on.
Remember, we can "Agree to Disagree" on this site, but stupid name calling is not welcome here.
Thank you for your interest, participation & consideration.

I saw people supporting candidate Ron Paul at the Occupy L.A. gathering on Sat. 10_01_11.
I saw signs to end the federal reserve private banking corporation.
I heard people talking about fighting for gun rights.
I heard "Oathkeepers" talking about how the military will not enforce unconstitutional laws.
I was struck by how there seems to be a bit of an overlap between people in the Tea Party movement, and the Occupy L.A. movement.
Where the crowds differ, I saw socialists, communists, and revolutionaries at the Occupy L.A. gathering, but not in the Tea Party events I have viewed and attended.
I think most of America can feel that something is wrong, but I'm not certain that the specifics have been identified yet. We know that inflation (excessive printing of money) is robbing the poor & the middle class.
I'm interested in your thoughts on Occupy L.A. and the similarities to the Tea Party.

I see that events have devolved into violence at Occupy Oakland.
Spoke with LAPD today, and the Occupy L.A. peeps are going to have to let the grass recover, the water sprinklers need repaired, and camping out is not permitted on City Hall property.
We can peaceably assemble & petition our government for a redress of grievances, but we can't impose on people.
I hope that a civil conversation continues, so that America can address:
- 14.8 trillion dollars in debt
- The Patriot Act
- The federal reserve private banking corporation
- War, after war, after war, after war, while New Orleans, Detroit, Joplin, Texas, and other parts of the United States struggle to rebuild.
- Military veterans suffering from PTSD, or living on the street instead of getting the help that they need,
- An overreaching federal government that makes rules up as they go along.

God bless this country, (however you choose to define your God or god, or none at all) because we're in trouble, and we have to seriously address the problems crippling us in 2011!

I'm on hold with Los Angeles radio KFI 640AM hoping to ask 3 Occupy L.A. members about the overlap between Tea Party & Occupy frustrations. Hope I get to talk before my phone battery dies. (Been on hold for more than an hour now.)
