Post Keys to Victory: Browns vs. Ravens

Ok, so I almost got the prognostication exactly right last week with the Bengals. Only problem was it was OSU legend Mike Nugent (NOOOOOJ!) who got the win 23-20. Dawson had his chance, but the dearly departed Ryan Pontbriand booted another one, and the woe continues. Can't put this all on the missed kick though. Big props to AJ Green, who made a spectacular catch in the clutch to get his team in easy field goal position (unless we're talking Browns/Rams!) Anyway, I didn't feel as bad about this game as some of the others. They played well enough to win, but needed that one more score that never came. Well, such is life. Onto the Ravens:

1.) Match physicality: The Ravens play a physical game of football, equaled only by our next opponent, the Steelers, in the NFL. The Browns have stood toe to toe with the Bengals twice, but lost close ones. The Bengals stood toe to toe with the Ravens (and Steelers), so maybe we can match that level of hard-nosed football needed to stay in the game. Expect a few more players on IR after this one.

2.) Flacco...oh no?: Joe Flacco has shown flashes of being an outstanding quarterback. However, he has also put out some very pedestrian performances as well. Maybe we'll get the unsteady one. Actually sacking the QB, instead of just pressuring him, could help!

3.) Ray Lewis, MIA?: Ray may not play Sunday. That would be good. He is the heart of the team, and one of the most intense players in the history of the NFL. He scares people on his own team, much less other teams. If he does not play, the Browns will have a significantly better chance of staying in the game.

Final prognostication: I've picked em last few weeks, and at home, why not? How about a continued effort for four quarters? Easier said than done. Let's say Browns 17-14.

GO BROWNS!

I'll pick the Browns to defeat the Ravens as well. 23-13.
I'd say it's time to pick on the bullies of our division & win a few tough ones to make up for the easy ones we let get away.
Let's not forget about the physicality of Peyton Hillis & what his return might mean to the team.
I think it means the difference between respecting the running game & getting some open receivers,...& not winning.
Browns have got to get their act together and play up to the peak of their potential & I know they can win. We need coaching, kicking, catching, passing, pass rushing, scheming, & tenancity consistency.
Go Browns!!!!!!

Wouldn't it be nice to be a fan of the Ravens or Steelers? God, sometimes I really wish I grew up in Pittsburgh. I think my dad just disowned me for saying that. Man though, it just would be nice for once in my adult life to have a Browns team I not only pick to win a game, but actually feel really confident that they will, even against tough teams! We're still going to be on the outside looking in until some of the stuff you talked about comes together. Please God, let us win two games in the next seven days, please!

Ha! Remember when my roommate came to your place & his Browns/Steelers ticket fell through?
He sat there in your Dad's living room, wearing a Steelers jersey with your devout Browns fan of a father!
That was so funny & awkward.
I asked Santa for a personalized Browns jersey with my name & H.S. #.

I've always said that I root for laundry anyway, & with so many Couch, Edwards, Winslow jerseys walking around Ohio, I figured that I'll never trade Engelman from the team, & it will never feel dated.
Let's see if Santa brings that super cool jersey.

Let's see if Cribb's frustration will spark this team. I know Colt must HATE losing as well!
