Post NFL Playoff Preview: Championship Round

Ok, so I was right and wrong last week. I said that New Orleans would win a close one, but the Niners came out on top with a last second win. I said The Pats would dominate the Broncos, and they did. I said the Ravens would win a low scoring game, which they did, and I said the Pack would beat the Giants, but that I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants won. I was surprised, because the Giants kicked major tail. So the final four are set:

AFC Championship--Ravens vs. Patriots: It's a big-time D vs. a big-time O. This game could end up being a lot like the Saints/Niners game last weekend, but it could also be a low-scorer too. The Ravens have a capable offense, led by the erratic Joe Flacco, but really led by Ray "Greased Lightning" Rice. Tom Brady is hungry to get back to the Super Bowl for the first time in four years, and he will be ready for what Ray Lewis & Co. will throw at him. Brady is the X-factor here, and his tight ends might be too much for the Ravens to handle. I'll say New England 28-17.

NFC Championship--Niners vs. Giants: Both of these teams had monster wins for their fans last weekend, but the Giants beating the Packers in very convincing fashion was clearly the story of the weekend. As big a win as the Niners had last weekend, the Giants have the hot hand here. It's going to be tough to pick against them. Plus, I think a lot of people are looking forward to a rematch of one of the best Super Bowls of all time, in which the the Giants upset the unbeaten Pats. We'll say Giants 20-10, although I could certainly see a high scoring game here.

That sets up Pats vs. Giants in the Super Bowl. Let the Yankees and Red Sox fans rejoice. Go Browns!

I loved the guts & fury from Alex Smith in last week's win vs. the Saints.
I've gotta say I'm quite impressed with the competitiveness. It's going to be hard to root for the Giants, Patriots, and of course, I'll never root for the Ravens.
Shocked that the Saints & Packers bowed out the way they did, but I'm sure I'm not alone in being stunned.
I think the fight in the Patriots & Niners are going to meet.
Brady & the Pat's look fantastic, hungry, angry, focused, and dangerous.
Just for Brandon, I'm going to pick:

Patriots 28-24 in an overtime victory
&
Niners defeat the Giants in overtime 30-26

Go Browns!

Well, well.
It appears as though you were unaware of the new Playoff overtime rules, and I failed to factor in the fact that an extra point would not be kicked following a TD to win the game.
It looks like we are tied.
Nice game by both the Patriots & Giants.
We must therefore, settle this with our Super, Super Bowl predictions.
On to Indy.
